"A quiet home is a happy home, but a predictable one is a peaceful kingdom." From my experience with my Exotic Shorthair, they’re generally unfazed by routine household sounds like a washing machine hum or the TV droning on-it’s the sudden bangs or loud arguments that get their ears twitching. They’ll nap right through the daily grind as long as there’s a cozy spot to curl up in.

Predictable sounds are part of their baseline comfort zone, not a stressor. My Exotic Shorthair doesn't even flinch at the vacuum cleaner running on schedule or the dishwasher mid-cycle-it's just background noise to him, like a ticking clock. What really matters is the tone and consistency; if you're calm about those sounds, he stays calm too.

From what I've seen with my own Exotic Shorthair, those predictable sounds tend to blend right into the background for them. It's more about the rhythm of the day-if the vacuum runs at the same time each morning, he'll just find a sunny patch of floor and not even lift his head. The key seems to be that they learn the pattern, so a washing machine or a fan becomes part of their environment rather than something to investigate or be wary of.
