Absolutely yes. These cats are independent but they value their peace and quiet, especially in a busy household. Giving them a dedicated room or a quiet corner where they can retreat without interruptions helps them regulate their stress and recharge. It doesn't have to be fancy - just a space with a bed, some toys, and a litter box if possible, where they won't be bothered by kids, other pets, or loud noises. They'll use it when they need a break, and it'll make them more relaxed and less prone to acting out.

Every living creature needs a sanctuary, and your British Shorthair is no exception. They might act like stoic little lords, but even a stone-faced cat needs a place to let its guard down. Giving them a quiet room or a cozy corner is less about spoiling them and more about respecting their need to recharge away from your chaotic existence.
