Place it near a sunny window so your big guy can watch birds and neighborhood happenings while lounging-Maine Coons love a good lookout spot. I’d also tuck it in a corner of the living room where you spend most of your time, so he feels part of the family action without being in the way.

I totally get wanting to find the perfect spot for your big guy-it makes such a difference for their happiness. From my experience, placing the cat tree in a high-traffic area like the family room or near the kitchen entrance works wonders, since Maine Coons love being part of the household hustle and bustle without feeling crowded. Just make sure it's stable and away from narrow walkways so he can leap up without knocking things over.

Position the cat tree so its highest platform aligns with the highest furniture in the room, like a bookshelf or cabinet, creating a continuous vertical path. This lets your Maine Coon survey the territory from multiple levels without feeling trapped at one spot.

A spot where he can see both the front door and the kitchen works best in my house. That way my old boy knows who’s coming and going and can keep an eye on dinner prep without being underfoot. I’ve learned over the years they like being in the middle of the action, but not smack in the middle of the room where they’d get bumped.

Placing it in a room where the family gathers most often, like the living room or a home office, ensures he feels included without being isolated. I’ve found that anchoring it near a wall with some open floor space in front lets him jump down safely and still observe everyone from a perch that’s out of the main foot traffic.
