You would think a slicker brush is the best, but actually I disagree - those tangle teaser combs with rotating pins are way easier for daily use because they glide through without pulling. The bristle brush everyone recommends? Yeah, I don't buy it, my Persian just squirms and it misses the undercoat, so a wide-tooth metal comb is what I'd go with first.

I stick with a simple metal greyhound comb and a soft bristle brush. The comb handles mats without snagging, and the brush polishes the topcoat without fuss.
