Which type of food bowl is practical for an American Shorthair?

A wide, shallow ceramic or stainless steel bowl works best for this breed because their faces are not flat but they still prefer not to have their whiskers touching the sides while eating. I always recommend something with a non-slip base to keep it from sliding around on the floor, and it's a good idea to wash it daily to avoid any buildup of bacteria. My own cat loves a simple, heavy ceramic dish that's easy to clean and stays put during meal time.
