They’re naturally wired to be active and curious, so vertical space lets them explore and feel secure without being underfoot. I’ve noticed mine gets restless if there aren’t enough perches to jump on and survey the room. It satisfies their instinct to climb and keeps them from getting bored or destructive.

Climbing spots are like a personal high-rise apartment for an Abyssinian-without them, they’ll just redecorate your curtains into modern art. I’ve seen mine turn a cat tree into a launchpad for parkour across the living room, and it’s less about being bossy and more about burning off that endless energy before they decide your bookshelf is a gym. It keeps them entertained and saves your furniture from becoming a casualty of boredom.
