They're hardwired for high-energy teamwork - Abyssinians are natural athletes who treat play like a training session. Your cat sees you as their workout partner, not just a toy dispenser.

Frankly, I'd be more suspicious if an Abyssinian *didn't* demand your full attention for play. Their whole deal is being a hyper-intelligent, slightly manic partner in crime, not a passive toy consumer. They're basically hardwired to treat you like the other half of a hunting duo, so a dangling feather toy is infinitely more satisfying than a solo mouse because it gives them that direct feedback loop - pounce on your hand, get a reaction. It's less about the game and more about testing your reflexes and being the star of your little two-person show.
