Cats are creatures of habit and scent, so your Exotic Shorthair has likely claimed that blanket as a safe, familiar territory. It carries their own smell and feels consistent, which reduces any nighttime anxiety and helps them settle down faster. I see the same with my own cats - they'll ignore a dozen new beds to sleep on the same grumpy old towel every time.

That blanket has the perfect texture and warmth retention for their flat face and short nose. Exotic Shorthairs often seek out soft, breathable fabrics that don't irritate their sensitive skin or obstruct their breathing while they sleep. My own cat picks one fleece throw over all others because it mimics the cozy feeling of being nestled against a littermate. It's simply the most comfortable spot in the house for their specific needs, and once they've chosen it, they'll stick with it for life.

I get more peace and quiet at night when they stick to that one blanket-it means less fussing and rearranging for me. That fabric probably holds their scent better, so they don't feel the need to mark other spots or wake me up kneading. Mine does the same, and I just let them have it since it saves me from washing a dozen different bedding items all the time.
