Japan launches law and regulations for integrated casino resorts

According to official data on the nineteenth of July this 2021 is scheduled to enter into force a new law and a set of rules for the opening and operation of integrated casino resorts in Japan.

A draft developed and composed by the Japanese regulator prescribes a clear regulation of the activities and supervision of land-based gambling industry facilities in designated areas.

Remember that earlier this document was submitted for public comment, which ended successfully in the first decade of May 2021.

The new law includes the process of licensing of gambling establishments, available check and control not only operators and shareholders but also data of casino’s clients and staff. Clear standards and scale of gambling houses are specified as well as schemes of calculation of GGR – gross gambling income for gambling operators.

And in mid-June this year, Yokohama completed the application process for the construction and opening of an integrated casino resort.
