Probably not. A Siamese alone all day will save up that vocal energy for when you walk in. They need more interaction than most breeds. If you can't get a companion, consider a timed feeder and some puzzle toys to keep them busy.

I've had two Siamese over the years and learned this the hard way. Mine would wait until I got home, then follow me around the house yowling for a good hour about every perceived injustice from the day. It's not just dusk - it's like they save up all their complaints for your arrival. If you leave them with a puzzle feeder and a window perch, you might get 15 minutes of peace before they start.

From what I've seen with my own Siamese, that evening concert is pretty much guaranteed unless you really set things up beforehand. I'd suggest a sturdy cat tree near a bird feeder and a timed treat dispenser, but even then, every cat is different - check with your vet if you're worried about separation anxiety.

I'd lean towards no based on what I've observed in friends' homes. One buddy had a Siamese that would sit by the door exactly at 5 PM and let out these low, mournful wails until someone walked in. The key might be interactive toys that mimic prey movement, like a robotic mouse, to drain some of that energy before you leave. But honestly, they're social creatures who thrive on routine, and a long stretch of solitude usually triggers that vocal release.
