Yes, an Exotic Shorthair is essentially a Persian in a wash-and-wear coat. I’ve owned both breeds, and the Exotic gives you that same round face, pushed-in nose, and calm, laid-back personality-everything that makes a Persian a Persian-without the daily grooming marathon.
The trade-off is that their short, dense coat still needs brushing a couple times a week, especially during seasonal sheds. You can skip a day or two without tangles, but you’ll notice more loose hair around the house. If you want that Persian temperament and look but have less time for combing, an Exotic is the practical choice. Just don’t expect zero grooming-they still need attention, just not daily.
