Ocicats are generally more physical communicators than chatterers. While they may occasionally chirp or chatter at birds or insects outside a window, it’s not as common or pronounced as in breeds like the Bengal or Siamese. Their primary way of expressing interest or excitement is through body language-pouncing, tail twitching, or a focused, crouched stance. They’re also known for following you around, head-butting, or using their paws to get your attention. If you’re looking for a cat that vocalizes a lot at windows, an Ocicat isn’t the typical choice, but their physical expressiveness more than makes up for it.

In my experience, they tend to be more physical. My Ocicat rarely chatters-she’ll stare intently at a bird through the glass, but the sound is more of a soft, questioning mew. She’s far more likely to tap the window with a paw or race to the door, trying to get outside. That’s where her real communication lives-in movement, not noise.
