I’ve found that wand toys with feathers or dangling prey-like attachments really tap into that stalking instinct without turning your couch into a battleground. My own cat goes wild for a simple fishing pole-style toy, and it keeps the hunting action focused on the toy, not the furniture.

Wand toys with a 6-inch retractable cord and a small, floppy rabbit fur attachment give them that pounce-and-stalk sequence without latching onto your armchair. In my experience, a 30-inch telescoping rod keeps me at a safe distance while they go full jungle predator on the floor.

A crinkle tunnel placed away from any furniture lets them stalk, hide, and burst out without using the couch as cover. My cats love the sound and the confined space, and it channels their ambush drive into a designated zone that's easy to move around.

Feather wands with a long, sturdy string and a bell at the end let them leap and bat mid-air, keeping the action off your sofa. My cats get that full predatory focus on the moving target, not the armrest, and it wears them out fast.
