A Singapura and a Maine Coon can live together fine, but it depends entirely on the individual cats' temperaments, not just their sizes. Singapuras are active, curious, and confident for their small stature-they often won't back down from a larger cat. Maine Coons are generally laid-back and gentle giants, not known for aggression.
The real risk is if the Maine Coon is boisterous or doesn't read social cues, or if the Singapura feels cornered. Slow, supervised introductions are key. Provide plenty of vertical space, like cat trees and shelves, so the smaller cat can escape if needed. In many cases, they'll end up as friends or at least tolerate each other peacefully.

Size difference alone rarely dictates the dynamic. I've observed that Singapuras often compensate with a bold, almost bossy temperament, while Maine Coons tend to be easygoing giants. The more practical concern is managing their physical play: a Maine Coon's heavy paw swipe during a game could accidentally injure a Singapura, so I always recommend supervised interactive sessions and providing plenty of vertical space for the smaller cat to retreat to. Structured feeding stations with clear separation also prevent any food-guarding tension.

From personal experience, I’d say it’s less about size and more about who’s got the bigger personality. I’ve seen a Singapura confidently claim the best sunbeam or food bowl, while the Maine Coon just sighs and finds a spot on the floor. The real issue I’ve noticed is territory: Singapuras can be possessive over small spaces-like a favorite cat tree perch-and if the Maine Coon tries to squeeze in, it’s not aggression, just awkward squabbling. So if you’ve got enough vertical escape routes (shelves, cat condos), the little one won’t feel trapped, and the big one won’t care. Just watch out for the Maine Coon’s tail-I’ve had a Singapura mistake it for a toy and get accidentally whapped.
