That's just the "evening zoomies" - a burst of energy your cat has stored up all day. Abyssinians are incredibly active and intelligent, so if they haven't had enough playtime or mental stimulation, they'll release it all at once when the house gets quiet. But honestly, I think it's more about instinct - in the wild, dusk is prime hunting time, so your cat's DNA is telling them to patrol and chase. Still, maybe it's just boredom, and a good puzzle toy or a laser session before dinner would solve it.

It’s pure instinct, plain and simple-cats are wired to be most active at dusk, what folks call the “hunting hour.” Your Abyssinian’s just shaking off a day of napping and letting out that built-up wild streak. I’d say it’s a healthy sign they feel safe enough to let loose, not a problem to fix.

It’s just the classic evening zoomies, plain and simple. Your Abyssinian is basically a little furry athlete who’s been saving up energy all day for a mad dash around the house when things get quiet. I’ve got a buddy who swears his cat does it to race imaginary rivals or ghosts, and honestly, I kinda buy that-they’re just blowing off steam in the most dramatic way possible. Oh wait, maybe try a laser pointer before the craziness starts to burn some of that off.

Picture it like a tiny, furry athlete doing their daily circuit training - your cat's just burning off all the energy they've stored up during their daytime naps. Compared to lazier breeds, Abyssinians have a higher drive to simulate hunting at dawn and dusk, so that evening sprint is their version of a workout routine. A friend of mine swears her cat only does it after she’s been stuck at work all day, like a little protest for missed playtime.
