Absolutely, they pick it up faster than you'd expect. My own Devon Rex figured out that breakfast is at 7 AM sharp, and she'd start doing laps around the bed at 6:55 to make sure I didn't forget. It's like having a tiny, furry alarm clock with zero snooze button.

My male cat has his schedule down to a science, especially around his feeding times. He knows when I get home from work and will be sitting by the door, not to greet me but to lead me straight to his bowl. It's not rocket science, they just figure out what works for them.

It's not just that they can learn one, they'll actively teach it back to you if you're slacking off. My Devon Rex has this whole evening ritual where he patrols the apartment after his 10 PM snack, checks every single room, and then curls up on my chest. If I try to stay up late, he'll sit there and stare at me with this look that says, 'We both know it's time, mate.' They're creatures of habit who thrive on predictability.

From what I've seen, they don't just learn it-they practically choreograph it with you. My own girl has a whole late-morning ritual where she sits on the bathroom mat while I brush my teeth, then leads me to the window for a good bird-watching session before her lunch. It's less about them memorizing a schedule and more about them enjoying the predictability of shared moments.
