Start by placing the fountain near their usual water bowl, but keep it off at first to let them inspect the new object without the noise or movement scaring them off. Once they seem comfortable sniffing and pawing at it, turn it on for short periods while you're nearby, maybe dipping a finger in the water to show it's safe and even tempting them with a treat near the base to build positive association.
