In my experience with Scottish Folds, they'll typically retreat to a high-up perch like a cat tree or a bookshelf, or a cozy, enclosed spot like a covered bed in a quiet corner. They're not ones to confront strangers head-on, so anywhere they can observe without being approached is their go-to.

Under a sturdy sofa or an armchair that’s low to the ground. My Scottish Fold heads straight for the tight crawlspace beneath our leather recliner, where she can vanish completely but still monitor feet moving around the room. That enclosed, dark spot gives her total control over when to emerge, so she waits there until the guests settle down and stop making noise.

Mine immediately claims the spot behind the living room curtains, where she can peek out at the legs and voices without being fully visible. She’ll stay there perfectly still until she recognizes a familiar tone, then slowly poke her nose out. It’s her own little observation post where she feels in control.
