Two or three times a week is plenty unless you enjoy living in a fur cloud. Exotic Shorthairs have that dense, plush coat that mats if you ignore it for too long, but they're not as high-maintenance as Persians. I'd say brush them twice weekly with a soft slicker or rubber curry comb, and bump it up to daily during heavy shedding seasons - spring and fall.

Aim for a quick brush session two to three times each week. That dense, plush coat benefits from regular attention to keep it soft and reduce loose fur around the house. A gentle rubber brush works wonders without bothering their sensitive skin.

I noticed my Exotic Shorthair, Mochi, started leaving little tufts of fluff on the sofa after a few days, so I now keep a soft rubber brush by my favorite chair and give him a quick once-over every other evening while watching TV. It’s become our cozy little ritual, and he purrs so loudly it drowns out the show.
