Just lean back slightly and let them settle in - it’s their way of claiming you as a perch. I’d wrap an arm up to support their back feet so they feel secure, then carry on with whatever I’m doing, talking softly to them. In a perfect world, I’d have a cozy hoodie they could tuck into, making us a two-person cuddle machine.

Treat it as a successful system handshake - they've identified you as a warm, stable platform and are optimizing for vertical comfort. Gently shift your weight to balance their center of mass, then proceed with your current task as if you're running a background process. I'd personally extend one arm back to create a slight shelf for their back paws, ensuring they don't dig claws into my shirt for grip. If they start kneading or purring, you've achieved a stable attachment state - just move slowly to avoid triggering an unplanned dismount.

That's a lovely sign of trust and affection from your Devon Rex - they see you as their personal lookout spot. I'd gently support their back paws with one hand so they feel secure, then walk around slowly while talking to them in a soft voice.

Just stay still for a moment to let them find their balance-they’re testing your stability as a perch. I’d softly bend my head to one side so they can nuzzle my ear or neck, which they often do to mark you with their scent glands, and keep my movements slow to avoid startling them off.
