Three solid play sessions of 10-15 minutes each daily cover the British Shorthair’s needs, but I’d push for at least 20 minutes per session to really burn off that laid-back energy. They’re not hyperactive like some breeds, so short bursts won’t cut it-go for interactive wand toys or puzzle feeders that keep them moving without exhausting them. I always recommend investing in a cat wheel or a laser pointer for those days when you want to maximize their activity without constant effort from you.

Two 10-minute sessions per day is plenty for this breed. They’re not high-energy cats, so longer playtimes just bore them. I’ve found they prefer short, focused bursts with a wand toy or a ball they can bat around on their own. No need to force more.
