Depends on what's in it for me-if my owner's heading to the kitchen for treats or to the couch for lap time, I'm glued to them like a shadow. But if they're just doing boring chores or leaving for work, I'd rather find a warm spot to nap alone-no point wasting energy on zero payoff.

Following me is more about curiosity than clinginess-I want to see what you're doing because it might be interesting or involve something fun like opening a cabinet. If I trail you from room to room, it's usually because I'm nosy, not because I need constant attention.

Mine follows me mostly for warmth and comfort - they’re practically little heat-seeking missiles that want to be where the body heat is. If I’m stationary, like reading on the couch, they’ll settle nearby, but they won’t shadow me constantly unless there’s a cozy spot or soft fabric involved.
